#NARCallforAction: Reauthorize the NFIP

On Monday, NAR launched a Call for Action asking members to tell their Members of Congress to reauthorize the National Flood Insurance Program before it expires on July 31.

The NFIP is an extremely important program for communities across our state and country (more than 20,000) who rely on it to provide required flood insurance for all types of properties. In just a four-year period, the NFIP has been extended 17 times and shut down twice. Each shutdown stalls thousands of transactions and places millions of people at serious risk.

ISSUE UPDATE: HEALTH INSURANCE OPTIONS FOR REALTORS®

Access to affordable health coverage is the top issue for REALTORS® across the state. Due to rising premiums, high deductibles, and coverage limitations, we know that many of you are choosing to forgo coverage, placing you at ever-increasing risk from illness or injury. This week’s decisions by the US Department of Labor provide additional options for association health plans across the country, but there is still work which needs to be done in North Carolina.
