YES, YOU CAN VOTE EARLY

And more important updates because it is time for #NCREALTORSVote2020

Early Voting for the March 3 primary kicked off at hundreds of sites across the state yesterday, signaling the formal start to the elections in North Carolina. Though the hours of operation and locations vary based on county, Early Voting will remain open until Saturday, February 29.

Aren’t registered to vote? You still can at any early voting site in your county. This is only for new registrations though. You can’t make changes to an existing registration, including changing party identification without contacting your local Board of Elections.

We have put together a ton of resources to make sure you are informed when you go to the polls, including a list of NC REALTORS® PAC-supported candidates. Check out ncrealtors.org/ncrealtorsvote for everything.

THE CENSUS COMES BUT ONCE A DECADE

So make sure you are counted!

As required by the Constitution, every ten years the government conducts a census of the population of the United States. The data collected helps determine the allocation of numerous federal programs, including the how many Members of Congress a state gets. With North Carolina’s population continuing its significant growth our state is poised to gain not only another member of Congress (our 14th delegation member) but also access to more federal dollars. The data is also extremely important for many of the studies conducted by NAR and other researchers.

This year, you will have three options to take the Census: By phone, By mail, or Online (new for 2020). You should begin receiving more information in mid-March.

NC REALTORS® has launched a new page (ncrealtors.org/2020Census) with a lot of resources and links for this year’s Census. NAR has also developed a Census Guide which gives you numerous resources that you can share with your friends and clients.

Take the Census so that North Carolina has a Complete Count!

What about the housing challenges facing rural areas? Are they the same as those facing urban areas? Join us to find out!

And can you actually live in a 3D-printed house? We shall see…
